Spiga D’oro, Durban’s favourite and fabulous Italian restaurant, is back by popular demand.
Spiga has always been famous in the local South African merged Italian culinary scene. Always buzzing, and popular with foodies far and wide – and for good reason.
The atmosphere has a unique vibe – chilled enough for a fun hangout with your chommies, great for families, and the eatery extends to the curb so you don’t miss out on the true Durban spirit oozing out of this eatery.
Service with a smile
Upon arrival, you are greeted with a warm welcome from the owners. How’s that for personal attention? The old charms can still be found at Spiga that make you feel the connection immediately! The same graffiti wall, just like the one that featured in their Florida Road eatery, this time, with “welcome back” messages. And there’s that familiar smell of authentic Italian food wafting through the air awakening that nostalgic sense of homeliness.
Food and Drinks
If you’re a die-hard Spiga fan, then you’ll be happy to know that the menu hasn’t changed. So pizza and pasta lovers can still look forward to spotting their favourite old dishes on the menu.
Spiga combines delicious Italian cuisine with the essence of local South African flavour. It is refined and well-prepared with the flavours always consistent and balanced, reminding you of your first Spiga experience.
Spiga offers a large wine and cocktail list. YUM! Local and Italian craft beers are available too, as well as beer on tap. Waiters are pretty skilled when it comes to pairing your meal with a wine that would complement it – go on, ask them.
If you’re in a hurry, order a takeaway, Tap & Go. It’s convenient, fast and reliable.
We’re so glad that they’ve decided to re-open their doors on 465 Innes Road (next door to Charlies). If you’re looking for delicious food, chilled vibes and a personal experience then check out the brand new Spiga. Excellent food, excellent service and excellent atmosphere – it’s “Convenience at your fingertips” as owners Paul and Marco would say.
Spiga D’oro perfectly balances good food with good moods. Pop by for a meal, enjoy the outside view of the hustle and bustle of city life and views of Mitchell Park as you enjoy delicious authentic Italian cuisine. The people are chilled, and so is the vibe – it’s the kind of stuff people move to Durban for.
