What is iK Pay Gateway
iK Pay Gateway is iKhokha's online payment gateway for South African businesses taking card and EFT payments on a website. Add it to your checkout with a plugin for Wix, WooCommerce, Shopstar or Savvy, or connect it to a custom site with iK Pay API. Payments settle to your registered bank account, usually within 1 to 3 business days.
It costs nothing to install and there are no monthly fees. You pay 2.85% excl VAT on South African card payments, and that rate drops as your monthly volume grows. There is a R2.50 payout fee each day money is transferred to you, and your profile needs to be FICA approved before payouts start.

Each platform has its own plugin, so most setups don’t need a developer. If your site is custom-built, iK Pay API gives you the same payment methods through a direct integration.

Getting started is straightforward. Once your iKhokha profile is set up, you can generate your website key, connect your checkout, test everything properly, and go live. Your iKhokha profile needs to be FICA approved before payouts can start, so it is worth getting your business documents in before you go live.

iK Pay Gateway is free to install and there are no monthly fees. You only pay on payments that go through successfully.
For South African debit and credit cards, the rate is 2.85% excluding VAT. For Instant EFT, it is 2.00% excluding VAT. Cards issued by banks outside South Africa are charged at 3.25% excluding VAT.
There is also a R2.50 fee each day money is paid out to you, whatever the payout is worth.
Your iKhokha profile needs to be FICA approved before any payouts can start. Have your business and identity documents ready when you sign up, because approval is the step that holds most people up rather than the technical setup.
